Measuring the Product Carbon Footprint: a new project in IVG’s sustainability journey

At IVG Colbachini, environmental responsibility is a concrete, daily commitment that involves every department and guides our business model toward increasingly sustainable choices.

As part of this journey, we are launching a new strategic project: measuring the Product Carbon Footprint. This model will allow us to independently and accurately calculate the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with a hose, expressed in CO₂ equivalent.

Having precise data on the environmental impact of our products and their influence on climate change is a fundamental tool for us. This information enables us to make informed, precise decisions regarding production processes and materials, confirming the choices we have already made and optimizing our actions wherever necessary.

The project was carried out in collaboration with the University of Padua - Department of Industrial Engineering and actively involved several IVG Colbachini departments, particularly the R&D, Marketing, Design, and Product teams. This initiative demonstrates the value of synergy between IVG and the academic world, fostering the exchange of expertise between university research and industry.

Measuring the Product Carbon Footprint is fully aligned with IVG Colbachini’s ESG journey and contributes to achieving the objectives outlined in our Multi-Year Development Plan. Furthermore, this activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 - Climate Action.
